The 49ers have been one of the hottest teams over the last six weeks and have not lost since quarterback Brock Purdy returned to the lineup from injury. They’ll need to finish a sweep of the Seahawks in Week 18 to claim the No. 1 spot in the conference and win a third NFC West title in four years.
The Los Angeles Rams lost a heartbreaker to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night, blowing a 16-point fourth-quarter lead and losing in overtime, 38-37. It was as painful a loss as they've suffered this season, dropping to 11-4 and relinquishing their lead in the NFC West, as well as giving up control of the No. 1 seed.
Seattle scored first, as Sam Darnold led a nine-play, 40-yard drive that was capped by a Jason Myers 48-yard field goal. The possession was kept alive with an impressive 25-yard run by Zach Charbonnet on a third-and-15!
Rashid Shaheed had a 58-yard punt return touchdown with 8:03 to go in regulation and the Seahawks got the 2-point conversion to cut the Rams’ lead to 30-22. That gave Seattle some life.
